Main limitations and advantages of handhelds

Limitation of handheld :

1. The cost is very expensive.
2. The handheld will be outdated after a short period.
3. It is easily get damaged and the maintenance fees is high.
4. The screen is small, users just can browse a few information at the screen. Also it is difficult for students to use a handheld in groups.




Advantages of handheld :

1. It had multi-funtion for learning.
2.It can use in everywhere, can drop down the information they learn immediately. They also can get to the internet to search information in anywhere.
3.It is good to use in field trip that they can take photos and finish the project immediately. They do not need to type the information again to the computer.



Educational value and potential uses in a school library :

1.Students can use the handheld to view e-books or video.
2.They also can link to OPCA by using the handheld. They can use it near by the library's shelf, do not need to run away from the computer and the shelf.
